Quality
of Wool Carpets
The Fine Merino ( New Zealand ) wool carpets have a reputation of
being the sturdiest (in its category) carpets that have been produced
for over 4 centuries. The Merino wool, being as soft and fine as silk
gives a luster that is unsurpassable and its inherent characteristic
trait of robustness makes this one of the most overriding choice in
weaving high quality of carpets. The wool being a naturally resilient
material provides great sturdiness to the pile and when combined with
superb workmanship, this makes it the best-ever range of hand-made
carpets in its category. Finally due to the specific requirement related
to the usage of such carpets we are particularly creating them in double
knots, double weft grade that adds more pile and extra thickness giving
a plush feel to the overall richness of the carpet.
One of the most important and determining factors in the quality of
carpets that also affects the durability, workmanship and also the
price is considered to be the knots (or stitches) that are present
in per square inch of any given carpet. The durability of the carpet
increases manifold corresponding with the increase in the density of
the knots per square inch in the carpet, as it is an established fact,
that more the number of knots per square inch denotes more life for
the carpet that in turn gives luster, shine and intricate design to
the overall pattern or the motif of the carpet.
Wool carpets, in general, have varying number of knots per square
inch and come in different types of qualities and designs. Our range
of exclusive wool/silk carpets has more than 324 knots per square inch
going up to even 484 per square inch (more than 244 knots per square
inch is typically considered to be the beginning yardstick for the
top end quality) and thus have a longer life and splendidly intricate
designs and motif. Of course, besides the knots benchmark that is largely
followed, the price of a given carpet may also be charged based on
the intricacy of the design or the pattern, the uniqueness and the
individualism of the motif, the perfection attained in color matching
and occasionally for the brand name (royalty that is payable) lent
by the artisan who has conceived the original motif of a particular
carpet.
The colors (dyes) of all these carpets are fast as
we are using imported SWISS chrome dyes that prevent bleeding or running
of the dyes while washing, spot-cleaning and dry-cleaning the carpets.
All our carpets are fundamentally treated with anti-fungus, moth, etc.
procedures and are thus, entirely moth-proof too. The life expectancy*
of our carpets is estimated as 70 - 80 years making them virtually
a lifetime purchase.
* Conditional - This is
subjective and is based on the wear and tear, traffic density and local
climatic conditions and most importantly on the Care & Maintenance conducted
on the carpet. Our company does provide individual guarantee for all
our products, however, it is valid only for the first purchaser or
