Finely woven pure wool Indian bedcover that has intricate workmanship of traditional Jamavar origin. Months of hard work go into the creation of each Jamavar, with not more than an inch being added per day in a full size bedcover. The art of weaving Jamavar that grew and flourished in India tremendously and reached its zenith during the Mogul rule in India was brought to Kashmir from Persia (modern day Iran) many centuries ago.

However with industrialization and the quickening speed of modern life, all this changed, and the art began to wane by the end of the century reducing this beautiful tradition to a relic. Jamavar survived only as cherished heirlooms in a few homes of modern day India and museums. Jamavar weaving had mainly flourished when the craftsman's time and patience had been unlimited; when the superb quality of his work had brought him as much if not more satisfaction than the money he earned from it, when the patronage he enjoyed had been both discerning and magnanimous.
